Web SEO Workshop in the Context of Improving Webometrics

The Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) website, which can be accessed via the site address www.polines.ac.id, is currently a means for Polines to convey work programs, work achievements, work reports, new student information and information on activities that have been carried out by the Polines academic community.

Currently, websites are one of the indicators for assessing higher education accreditation, and study program accreditation is also one of the indicators for webometric assessment. Webometrics is a site that ranks universities throughout the world, which is a pioneer of Cybermetrics Lab, a research group that is still part of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, the largest research institution in Spain. The ranking results will be released by Webometric in 2 periods, namely in January and July. The demand is how we can create a website that meets the criteria for maximum value from these assessments.

In order to improve the webometrics of Polines Web, the Information and Communication Technology Academic Support Unit (UPA ICT) held a Polines Website SEO Optimization Workshop which was held on Friday, November 17 2023 at the Semarang State Polytechnic.

This workshop was attended by web managers/admins of study programs/departments/units, Web Polines Journalists and the Team from UPA ICT.

2 (him) The resource persons presented to fill this workshop were Mr. Sarono Widodo, S.Kom., M.Kom. and Mr Novian Pambudi from Visionic.

Mr Sarono is a member of the SPI Polines Team who on this occasion explained the New OTK at Polines, especially the role of UPA ICT andmotivated the web managers at Polines to play an active role in supporting Polines publications. Meanwhile, Mr Novian is a website practitioner who specializes in Marketing Strategy, SEO, Google Ads, Wordpress, Blog & Content Writing and Social Media.
