Semarang, 8 November 2024 – The Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) Academic Support Unit Information and Communication Technology (UPA ICT) has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting student career development. The UPA ICT Polines team just took part in the Career Development Center (CDC) Optimization Workshop as a Student Career Development Center which was held to strengthen the CDC's role in helping Polines students achieve success in the world of work.

This workshop was held with the aim of equipping CDC managers and the ICT team with the skills and knowledge needed to develop CDC as an effective service center in connecting students with industry and the job market. In this event, various materials related to career development strategies, managing alumni career data, and the use of technology in CDC operations were the main highlights.

The Secretary of UPA ICT Polines said that participation in this workshop is expected to enrich CDC services in Polines. "The existence of CDC is not only to provide information about job vacancies, but also as a place where students get strong career provisions. Through ICT support, we will develop various applications and information systems that can help students access various career-related information more easily," he said.

With increasingly developing information technology, CDC management is expected to be more innovative, from job search platforms to systems that are able to connect alumni with active students. The UPA ICT Polines team also plans to maximize the use of web and mobile-based applications to facilitate student access to career services.

Participants in this workshop consisted of various agencies and higher education institutions in Indonesia, all of whom collaborated in formulating CDC strategies that are in line with current developments in industrial needs. It is hoped that with this optimization, Polines can play an increasingly important role in producing graduates who are ready to compete in the world of work, and able to adapt to technological developments and job market dynamics.

With the presence of the UPA ICT Polines team in this workshop, in the future CDC Polines is expected to be able to become a reliable center for student career development, and play an active role in preparing graduates who are ready to contribute and compete on the national and international stage.
