Incident handling can be defined as a process of planning and handling intrusions, data theft, denial of service, rootkits, website defacement and other information security events. The scope of incident handling also includes activities that disrupt the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, whether intentionally or not.
The essence of incident handling is how we act when an incident occurs and how to handle it.
In the digital era, an organization/company cannot be separated from the use of IT to help with daily work operations. Every day there are more and more applications and systems used by companies. and of course one of the IT tools is the use of the INTERNET.
With the internet the work process of a company can be easier and greatly helped. However, behind the sweetness of the INTERNET, there are also threats that could attack the company. one of which is the threat of malware, fraud, exploits and so on.
These threats will become normal when we know and are ready to face them. that's why incident handling or incident handling management is necessary. so that we can prepare for even the worst things from an incident so that when the incident occurs the company's business processes will not be disrupted.
To anticipate threats and how to act if an incident occurs, Polines conducted Incident Handling training for POLINES IT Lecturers and Staff which was held on Tuesday-Wednesday, 14-15 November 2023 at Hotel Norman Semarang.
