The workshop on preparing the Recognition of Past Learning (RPL) document was held with the aim that study program managers can understand what is meant by RPL, and what types and terms/conditions are for implementing the RPL program. This workshop will be held on 6 - 7 November 2023 at the Grand Wahid Hotel Salatiga.

In this workshop, a resource person from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education's RPL team was presented, namely Mr. Samsul Arifin, S.Kom., M.MSI. who is also the Chair of the Past Learning Recognition Team — STIMATA, Malang.

RPL is recognition of a person's learning achievements obtained from formal, non-formal, informal education, and/or work experience as a basis for continuing formal education and for equivalency with certain qualifications.

In implementing RPL, higher education leaders can form RPL implementation units or add RPL implementation functions to existing units in higher education as RPL managers.

RPL consists of 2 (two) types, Type A RPL (carried out through partial recognition of Learning Achievements to continue with formal education) and Type B (carried out through recognition of Learning Achievements in a holistic way) which  are  obtained  in  formal,  non-formal, informal, and work experience, to  obtain  recognition  of equivalence  with  the  level  of  Qualifications  in  the  National  Qualifications  Framework  of  Indonesia  (KKNI)  most low level  8 (eight) for prospective lecturers who are determined based on the KKNI level description.
